A Dream Come True - Part 2

After our rocky start, we packed Abby up in her backpack and headed out for a hike along the Endless Wall above New River Gorge.

It's too bad that Abby missed most of it!

The views from the top of the Endless Wall were gorgeous.

After the hike, we had a picnic lunch at the visitor's center where Abby smiled and waved at every passer-by. She is too funny. It was naptime then, so we decided to do a scenic drive down to the river while Abby napped in the car...or didn't. She was still wide awake when we made it to the river, so we got out and went down to the water to watch the rafters shoot the rapids. We were all standing there, enjoying the blue sky when we heard a noise and the heaven's opened up. We ran for cover under the trees.

We headed back to the car before it started raining any harder, and Abby finally took her nap while we drove back to camp to move out stuff and have dinner. Our new site was great...much better than the original, and we had no neighbors so no worries about bothering anyone if we had another rough night. After dinner, our friends showed up to meet us for the rest of the weekend. After they arrived, Abby went down to sleep in the tent without us and...slept through the whole night!!!!! Not a peep. What a good girl, and what a great night's sleep!
