Happy Birthday

We had Abby's birthday party last weekend in NJ, hosted by my brother and his wife (thanks!).
It was a fun day, with lots of family in attendance. Abby loves Finding Nemo, and she loved the Nemo cake and balloons.

Abby got lots of gifts, but was too distracted by the festivities to concentrate on opening them! We gave up after a little bit, and she didn't open some of her gifts until the next day.

One of her gifts was a "little mommy" set. It came with a baby doll stroller, bassinette, diaper bag, and a bag full of baby care items like bottles, brush, comb, paci, etc. She went to town immediately taking care of her "baby". The idea is to give her someone to care for while I am caring for the new baby. It will be fun to see her learn how to be a mommy!

Of course, the exciting weekend messed with Abby's schedule. On our way home from NJ, she fell asleep in the car (NEVER happens!!) as soon as we pulled into our apartment complex. So cute!

She snuggled with Brian as he carried her inside (first time!), but as soon as she hit the crib, she was wide awake. We figured that would make bedtime easier. Yeah, not so much. It took a few days to recover and get back to normal.
