Life's a Beach...Until it's Time to Go Home!

Finally...a little time to post some pictures. We seem to have the fleas under control to a tolerable level...not completely gone, but tolerable. Brian comes home tomorrow, so we will re-evaluate our plan of attack then. For tonight, though, I need a break from vacuuming and doing laundry. How wonderful for you to benefit from my night off! :-) Here are some pics from our trip to the Outer Banks.

Uncle Bob tortured Abby by putting her bowling pins in her clothes. She was not fazed.
Mia has another cameo appearance on the blog, since she and her Mom and Dad came out to visit for a day. They all recently moved to North Carolina, so it was nice to see them since they live a lot further away now. Abby and Mia were so cute when we walked in the evening. Is this not the most adorable picture!?

Abby getting all suited and sunscreened for her first time at the beach.

Abby really enjoyed (insert sarcasm here) her first time at the beach. She hated the sand and the surf, and cried the whole time. She liked it when we brought her in the water, though. She kept sticking her pointer finger in the water and then putting it in her mouth. She liked the taste of the salt! She did the same thing later in the pool and seemed disappointed. Ha!

Here's the whole family. We decided to take a family picture, since we were all together. Someone came up with the idea to all dress the same, and then we had to walk to the beach looking like some strange yuppie cult in our khakis and polos. It's a great picture, though.

I guess I should tell you who everyone is (hope you guys don't mind!). In the top row, from the left are my cousin and her husband, my brother and his wife and my aunt and uncle. In the bottom row are my dad and step-mother, Brian, Abby and I, and my cousins.

It was a really nice trip, even though the drive was pretty long (10 hours). Abby had a great time playing with the dogs, pulling books off the shelves, dancing to Guitar Hero, taking walks, riding the elevator, and eating everything in sight. Brian and the rest of the family were gracious enough to take care of Abby so I could get a bit of a break. It was so nice to sleep in, swim in the ocean and pool, get a tan, and eat an entire meal while it was still warm!!
Ah, the simple things. :-)
