Boo

About a month before Abby was born, Brian and I decided to take in a kitten who needed a home. We thought we were nuts (and a lot of other people agreed) to take on another pet so close to when Abby was due, but we did it anyway. A year later, we are glad we did. She and Abby have grown up together this year, and they have a special relationship. Well, mostly because Boo is a very special cat. From the time we brought Abby home, Boo has liked to be near her. She used to curl up with Abby on the floor or on her playmat when Abby was a newborn, and now she lays on the floor and "supervises" Abby's playtime. Abby adores her and, consequently, tortures the poor cat. She pulls on her tail and legs, tries to poke her in the eyes, "pets" her roughly and follows her everywhere (we're working on those things...she's getting better). Boo just takes it. She is indeed a special cat.

Here are the buddies in action. They love to look out the door together.

We took Boo to the vet this week, because she has been throwing up. He thinks she has a bladder stone. There is the possibility that it is or may block her ability to use the litter box. If that happens, surgery may be necessary. Right now, she is on medication to break up the stone. We are really hoping that it works and we will not have to decide about surgery. I feel weird posting a prayer request about a cat, but, as you can imagine, her affection for Abby makes her near and dear to our hearts.
On the positive side...I have not seen a flea in well over a week!!! Yahoo!!!
