We have inherited two more cats. Are we crazy?!? Nope, they actually adopted us. A mom cat chose our basement as a good place to have her kitten. The two of them have been living in the basement for awhile now, as I was too much of a wuss to let Brian kick a tiny kitten outside in the cold and snow. Hey, I'm a city girl! Anyway, they have been very entertaining during their stay. One night, for instance, I heard the kitten crying and making a strange noise. I went down in the basement to check it out and found the poor thing caught in a have-a-heart trap. Curiosity killed the cat, right? Well, fortunately, we found this one before its curiosity got it that far! We didn't even know the trap was set, since it was here when we moved in. We let the little guy out, and he's fine. Now, the kitten has been coming up the steps and sitting just on the other side of the basement door. Our kitten, Boo, sits on our side of the door and they look at each other. In the picture above, the mom cat (left) joined the kitten (right). They stared at Boo for about an hour. We have found a home on a friend's farm for the kitten, and it should be vacating the basement in the next few weeks.
Boo and Abby are starting to become good friends! Boo likes to curl up with Abby when she's on the floor, and Abby likes to pet her and pull on her ears. Boo is, fortunately, very tolerant and she just licks Abby. It's very cute to watch them grow up together.
When we were back in NJ, we discovered that Abby liked her cousin's walker. So, when we got home, we set up her Exersaucer (by the way, who writes the directions for those things?!?!? It took us over an hour to put the silly thing together. Four degrees between the two of us, and a child's toy has us baffled!). Our of all the toys on it, she likes the washing instructions tag the best. Simple things...
Speaking of simple things...time for some ice cream!
